Inconel 718 tube is an age-hardenable super-alloy comprising of nickel-chromium-iron as its main elements. It also contains significant amounts of molybdenum, titanium, niobium and aluminum. This combines strong resistance to corrosion with extremely high strength. Typical applications include O-rings and heat exchangers. Inconel 718 tubing displays an excellent high creep-rupture and yield tensile properties at temperatures up to 1300 degree F and oxidation resistance to 1800 degree F. Inconel 718 tubes find their use in high-strength applications such as jet engine components such as buckets, wheels, spacers, and bolts and fasteners for high temperatures.
Advantages of using Inconel 718 Tubes
Inconel 718 Tubes is an alloy built on nickel that has been hardened by precipitation. The inconel 718 tube is intended for use in applications that need very high yield power, high tensile strength and strong creep rupture characteristics.
These tubes have very good mechanical properties i.e. they are tensile, fatigue and creep-rupture. They also have exceedingly high yield tensile strength, creep, and rupture strength properties. The Inconel 718 tubes are highly resistant to chloride, high temperature resistant, and sulfide stress corrosion cracking. The Inconel 718 tubes are also resistant to aqueous corrosion as also to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking.
It is an age-hardenable alloy with a specific slow ageing response property that allows heating and cooling without the possibility of cracking during annealing. It has outstanding welding properties that are resistant to post-weld age cracking.
Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy engineered to withstand pitting and cracking corrosion in a wide variety of severely corrosive conditions. From cryogenic temperatures until long-term operation at 1200 degrees F, this nickel alloy is used. The presence of niobium to permit age hardening is one of the distinguishing features of the composition of Inconel 718, which enables annealing and welding without spontaneous hardening during heating and cooling.
The niobium addition works with the molybdenum to stiffen the matrix of the alloy and provide high strength without reinforcing heat treatment. Other traditional nickel-chromium alloys are hardened by the addition of aluminum and titanium through age.

Its high nickel content, a minimum of Ni 72 %, combined with its chromium content, provides users of Inconel 600 Wire a number of benefits. In strong oxidizing solutions like hot, concentrated nitric acid, Inconel 600 Coil Wire has poor resistance. The high chromium content of Inconel 600 Wire raises its oxidation resistance considerably above that of pure nickel, while its high nickel content provides good corrosion resistance under reducing conditions. Inconel 600 Wire can both hot formed and cold form using typical processes, and is also often used in vegetable and fatty acid vessels. Inconel 600 Wire is also used for furnace components, in food and chemical processing, nuclear engineering, and sparking electrodes. Chromium content in Alloy 600 Coiled Wire confers resistance to sulfur compounds and also provides resistance to oxidizing conditions at high temperatures or in corrosive solutions. The high nickel content in Alloy 600 Coil Wire enables it to retain considerable resistance under reducing conditions. Alloy 600 Wire is a nickel – chromium alloy with good oxidation resistance at high temperatures and resistance to chloride – ion stress – corrosion cracking, corrosion by high – purity water, and caustic corrosion.

Inconel Alloy 825 Pipes, which offers higher creep and stress rupture properties. By understanding the needs and requirements of our customers in an effective manner, we have come up with a quality assured plethora of Inconel 825 Seamless Pipes, which is available at market leading prices. Inconel 825 Welded Pipes was developed for enhanced creep resistance and for higher strength at temperatures above 1000 Degree F. Inconel 825 EFW Pipes is extremely beneficial in applications of temperatures ranging from 800 Degree F, to 1600 Degree F., as it eliminates the necessity for re-annealing after fabrication. Titanium addition in Inconel 825 ERW Pipes eliminates the formation of chromium carbides at the grain boundaries by tying up the carbon and nitrogen as titanium carbides or nitrides. Annealing of Inconel 825 Round Pipes is often not required after welding unless stress relief is desired. However, the addition of titanium limits the application of Inconel 825 Square Pipes in terms of working. Inconel 825 Rectangular Pipes cannot be hardened by heat treatment, only by cold working. Their fusion point is lower than that of non-alloyed steels, therefore austenitic steels like Inconel 825 Electropolish Pipes have to be welded with lower heat input than non-alloyed steels. Because of its features and properties, Inconel UNS N08825 Pipes can be found in use in a number of industries and critical applications.

Material | INCONEL 718 |
Inconel 718 is a registered trademark by Special Metals Corporation. It belongs to the family of nickel-based superalloys known as “superalloys” or “high-performance alloys.” It has great resistance against corrosion and oxidation at high temperatures and is also very strong, making it an ideal choice for high-pressure applications that require components to withstand extreme heat and corrosive elements. This alloy also exhibits good weldability, which makes it one of the most versatile materials on the market today.
In terms of performance, Inconel 718 is renowned for its excellent fatigue strength, creep resistance, thermal stability, and resistance to stress cracking in chloride solutions—making it a top choice for aircraft parts such as turbine blades and other components exposed to extreme stress or heat. Additionally, its low coefficient of thermal expansion allows components made from this material to maintain their integrity during rapid changes in temperature. This makes it suitable for use in cryogenic systems where components need to maintain structural integrity even when exposed to extremely cold temperatures.
Disadvantages of Inconel 718The main downside to using Inconel 718 is its high cost compared to other alloys with similar properties. Additionally, although this material has excellent weldability, welding it can be difficult because it tends to form hard, brittle zones around welds due to rapid cooling rates caused by air exposure during welding operations. As such, proper preheating before welding is necessary to avoid cracking problems caused by rapid cooling after welding operations are complete. Additionally, machining this material can be difficult due to its high hardness; special tooling must be used at slow cutting speeds for successful machining operations.
